Ballerina Party Ideas To Carry You Through On Your Toes

One can hardly say ballerina party without thinking pink. Add to that image a few accents of silver and white and you'll be able to create a lovely feminine setting for a party.
BALLERINA GLAM IDEAS
Invite the kids to wear tights, leotards and tutus and you add the accessories to turn them into ballerina divas. Things like a headpiece, which could easily be made out of silver and pink metallic star garland and curling and/or satin ribbons. Twist the garland into a circle that will fit on top of the girls' heads and have the ribbons flow down their backs. You could even set-up a craft table and have the girls create their own.
Another table to consider setting up is a makeup table. Have a couple of teens adorn the girls with lipstick, blush, eye shadow, and body glitter. If you didn't opt for tiaras or headpieces, have some large flowers available to pin in the girls' hair.
BALLERINA ACTIVITIES
Dance Lesson - Teach the girls a few ballet moves like pirouette, arabesque, jete, and plie. These are all easy to learn and will make the little divas feel like prima ballerinas as they twirl their way around the house.
Ballerina Dance Relay - Split the girls into teams and have them all dance their way across the room and back to their teammates. No walking or running, only dance moves allowed. Whichever team gets through all their teammates first are the winners.
Tip Toes - Tip toes and toe shoes cry out for a contest to see who can stay on their toes the longest.
Musical Ballerinas - This game is played like Musical Chairs. While playing ballet music, have the girls dance their way around the chairs rather than walk.
Dance Recital - Hire a ballet teacher or student to teach the girls a simple routine they can perform in recital style for the parents.
BALLET PARTY FOOD IDEAS
Make some soft sandwiches like cream cheese and jelly, grilled cheese, or peanut butter and jelly. Cut them into heart and star shapes using cookie cutters.
For a yummy treat, dip large strawberries into melted chocolate.
Make or buy some pink and white cupcakes. Top them off with a ballet sugar art image or themed plastic topper.
BALLERINA PARTY DECOR
Let guests know the location of the party with a bouquet of pink, white and silver balloons attached to your mailbox.
Attach white and pink balloons to yard stakes and line your walkway with them.
Jazz up the front door with silver or white paper, a big pink bow, and a sign that says, "Twirl In For Fun".
Turn a pinata into a fun centerpiece and use it later for an activity to entertain the troops.
Glitz up some Styrofoam stars with pink paint and glitter. Then hang them from the ceiling at various heights using ribbons or fishing line.
Adorn a raised cake plate, serving bowls, punch bowl, etc. with little pink tutus made out of tulle.
Be sure to add lots of pink, white and silver balloons throughout the room. Jazz them up with curling ribbons in these same colors.
Make doorways inviting and enticing by hanging white and pink streamers for the ballerinas to pass through.
